Probably not the best helicopter landing pad I've ever seen. Having equipment close to the pad, I mean right at the edge of the pad, appears to have encourage the first helo to stay further away from the equipment leaving less space for the second helo. OTH, was that really supposed to be a pad for one or for two helos? Either way, the second pilot should probably be looking for a new line of ork!

For everyone heaping praise on this pilot... let me just say, this is a piss poor dogshit approximation of an autorotation. If fact i wouldnt even call it an auto, but rather a horrible run-on landing. This isnt what a full down should look like. -Sincerely and with great concern a helicopter CFI

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. As far as spreading the skids, well if the aircraft fails you, don’t be worried about saving the aircraft; it can be fixed. However, it looks like he failed to pull “initial” and as such, touched down hard. Now don’t get me wrong, a 180 autos adds a little more of a challenge, but from that altitude should be completely manageable. In any case, hats off to the pilot, he kept the greasy side down. 🫡 And just a side note. Those rotors looks like they are at full rpm AFTER touchdown. 😬

Not a pilot or anything but I feel like he had so many chances to shut it down.
